How Can I Validate My BlogML File Against BlogML Schema?

Validating your BlogML files against the appropriate BlogML schema version is a main requirement for you to be able to use BlogML.

To validate a BlogML file, you need the appropriate BlogML schema which is available as a part of download package for each version of BlogML as well a validation tool.

There are lots of validation tools that work with XSD schemas that you can use. Microsoft Visual Studio has this built-in feature and there are lots of freeware or commercial tools available for this purpose that you can find by searching on search engines. We also have included a simple validator as a part of BlogML download.

To validate your BlogML files, you need to give the path of your BlogML schema file and BlogML file to this validator tool and it will tell you if there is any error or warning in your file.

Errors are more critical because can stop you from using BlogML but we have tried to design BlogML in a way that it works even with warnings.

For more information about validating your BlogML files you can check out a blog post by Keyvan where he details this process.
